I started Artisan Realty of Vermont with the goal of providing exceptional customer service to my clients.  I specialize in residential real estate and have worked with people from all over who are relocating and who benefit from my knowledge of the area and all it has to offer.  Artisan Realty is a local firm committed to Vermont and the diverse opportunities our state provides people who chose to live here.

A benefit of working with me is the personal attention you receive.  I guarantee personal service, responsiveness, professionalism, and the understanding that moving is a significant and sometimes stressful event.  You have access to me seven days a week and I will not hand you off to an assistant or an inexperienced agent.  I will coordinate all the details of the process from working with the lender to the closing attorney.  If you are renting, I will assist you with locating reputable housing and educating you about your rights and options as a tenant.

About Me:

After over ten years in corporate information technology management, I made the transition into real estate in 2000.  I brought extensive building and remodeling experience combined with my technology background to my passion for real estate.  Going on twenty-one years practicing in the area, I have helped hundreds of people successfully buy and sell homes.  My experience as a real estate investor and landlord has served my clients in their real estate investments.  I am a full time Realtor who is actively involved in both my community and my Realtor organizations.

I serve my real estate community with pride and take our Realtor® code of ethics to heart, serving on our local and state professional standards boards and as a mediator and ombudsman.  2023 marks my eighteenth year in leadership with positions on our Multiple Listing Service board (VREIN), our local Realtor® board and our state and national associations.

In 2013 I was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Service Award, recognized as a Realtor member who has gone above and beyond to serve my industry.  I am one of only eleven members to have been recognized for this achievement.  In 2009 I was honored by the Northwest Vermont Realtor Association (NVRA) as their Realtor® Of The Year, an award that recognizes an individual for their leadership in their community and their unparalleled professionalism.  In 2011, I served as President of NVRA and also graduated from the 2010-2011 National Association of Realtors® Leadership Academy, the only Vermonter to have done so. 

Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin appointed me in 2011 to a five-year term as a Commissioner on the Vermont Real Estate Commission.  My ongoing work on the Commission earned me a re-appointment from the Governor in 2016 for another term which concluded in 2019.  The Real Estate Commission is a seven-member Board created by the Legislature whose members are appointed by the Governor to administer the laws for this profession in the State of Vermont. The Board's mission is public protection. In this role, I was actively involved at the international level with real estate regulators around the world through the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO).  I served as the President of this organization in 2018 and was elected Member Emeritus in 2020.

I continue to serve my profession as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for two national real estate exam providers and one of the country’s largest education providers. In this role I assist in the development of examination and education content.

I am an active supporter of several non-profits, including regular sponsorships of events and performances.  Artisan Realty of Vermont supports ECHO Leahey Center, the Bryan Memorial Gallery, Rebuilding Together Greater Burlington, and the St. Michael’s Playhouse.  My wife, Nicole, and I support several non-profit organizations including the Vermont Land Trust, Spectrum, COTS, MS Society, ECHO, The Flynn, and the United Way.
